steam deck dropped on it's shoulder button. my first guess was that the shoulder button is broken. no problem: got a new one on ifixit for 7€.

soon figured out it wasn't the shoulder button (which was also broken) but the top button on the buttonboard. it broke so it slipped a mm deeper - nearly not noticeable. the buttonboards are the on part of a steam deck you can't buy new on ifixit. so i looked online for used ones or broken consoles. nothing under 100€. nearly a quater of the original price (without new parts).

so i tried to skip the mm since the button still worked. i cut a 2mm x 1mm piece of plastic from a pick, carved a crosspattern inside so it would fit better on the shoulder button and connected it with superglue (i figured the shoulder button would be the better place to glue, because the button on the board shouldn't break totally from glue).

sprayed it with water so it would harden faster and more relieable and dried everything. fits like a glove and the button works again
