Dang, i’m a bit worried for my own RAM as well. I keep getting random reboots on my pc every now and then. I initially suspected my distro to be the problem since it started happening after i hopped, but after feeling like i checked everything on the software side, i’m checking hardware now just to be safe anyway. Started with removing the OC from my RAM. I also have my 5800X3D undervolted though since i saw it recommended at the time. Now that it’s a few years old i might just not be stable anymore at that voltage.

I’d just like to interject for a moment…

That’s understandable. It just sucks that these prices are like this right now. I’m still using an older am4 board that i maxed out a few years ago with the 5800X3D, so now i’m just trying to stick with that for as long as i can. Hopefully this pricing situation doesn’t last long, but i’m not very hopeful about that.

If it saves a lot of money short term i would maybe think of considering a maxed out am4 build? The CPUs available on that platform are still pretty dang good, ddr4 should be more affordable, would also allow you to buy more of it, assuming the amount of GBs is more important than the pure speed. Depends on the usecase i guess.

Same goes for buying a console. It’s expensive across the board

Yeah, with all the stories i keep hearing about it, next time i’m in the market for a GPU, i’m not buying anything that has this connector if i can help it.

Looking at the average pc gamer’s desktop, sounds like a 1000 IQ move to me.
Depends if you need those cores more than the gaming performance, which is very personal. I ended up going from a 3900x to a 5800X3D a few years ago cause i ended up not using the extra cores. I thought my 3000 series was still going pretty strong, but i was surprised at how much the 5800X3D improved things. Especially in CPU-heavy games it was huge.
